Philosophy
I will create a safe, multicultural learning environment that will be adaptive to all learners. I will do this by taking the time to assess each students learning strategy. I will create a learning environment that best fits the student's needs. I will do this by building a positive relationship with the students on an independent basis. I will always create an environment that is safe for all students. My class will bond as I teach, encouraging each other to always do their best. I will encourage the behavior through social skill lessons taught on a regular basis.
I am a constructivist, and I believe I am a facilitator of knowledge. I want the students to be curious about what they are learning and want to always learn more. It is more important to use higher level thinking, rather than basic recall of information. I believe in quality work, not quantity. I want my students to use their knowledge they learn in the classroom and apply it to everyday situations.
I will reflect and assess my teaching styles on a daily basis, consistently, to improve upon my teaching and behavioral strategies. There are many changes taking place in education. I believe it is important to adapt my teaching styles to the most current successful theories.
